Inspired by the children's book, "The Borrowers", this Japanese anime (redubbed in English and slapped with a Disney label) is the coming of age story for Arrietty as she explores the world of humans and meets a boy new to the house. This delightful adventure story is geared for the young kiddies who may imagine little people living under the floor boards. Themes of family, friendship, and courage are featured.

21 Jump Street

It's "Superbad" meets "Starsky and Hutch" as Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum try to re-invent that TV show premise. Two rookie cops go undercover back to high school in an attempt to bust a drug ring, except this version is just played strictly for laughs. Gross out humor, raunchy jokes, drug use, F-bombs, and inappropriate behavior drive this buddy/cop vehicle spoofing for laughs. If you roll back your brain to a high school mentality, you'll have a blast. Look for a cameo surprise. At the time of this screening, the film was unrated, but Alien can see how it could get away with anything less than an "R" if untouched.

Tornado Alley (3D)

Vortex2's team of madmen weathermen has built the Tornado Interceptor Vehicle (looks like a Civil War ironclad on wheels) for driving into the heart of a tornado. See some up close pictures of these storms forming and in action. Hail stones will shred leaves and pelt cattle. Watch how these men and women of the National Severe Storm Laboratory risk their lives gathering data to enhance weather prediction. See the devastation left in the wake of these storms. There is one 3D shot of a tornado that almost looks like it is right in front of you. The film is interesting, but Alien wasn't blown away.

Safe House

In the Safe House, the House Keeper (Ryan Reynolds) is responsible to take care of the House Guest (Denzel Washington), but the place is crashed and he may have trouble with the Landlord. It's the spy thriller that Alien hoped "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" would have been. The bumper car chase through the streets of Capetown and the close quarters hand-to-hand combat scenes feel like a Jason Bourne film and there is a "Ghost Protocol resemblance. Washington and Reynolds are perfectly casted in these roles. Washington is a good bad guy and Reynolds is a rookie having a very bad day. It's is a tremendous thrill ride that will stun you over and over and will make you suspicious of everyone.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (3D)

It's basically "Journey to the Center of the Earth" except it's based on a different Jules Verne novel; so this is not actually a sequel. A teen (Josh Hutcherson) and his step-dad (Dwayne Johnson) go on a wild adventure in search of the boy's lost grandfather (Michael Caine) and a mythical island. It's is good old clean family entertainment with a little bit of corn and some big 3D special effects. The Rock and Luis Guzman provide the comic relief as the action sequences channel "Indiana Jones", "Honey, I Struck the Kids", and "Star Wars". The ever-charming Rock is a co-producer, does most of the heavy lifting, and will surprise you with a little song. The ending will lead you to another Jules Verne novel as an anticipated Journey 3 adventure. For Looney Tunes fans, you'll be treated to a funny Daffy Duck/Elmer Fudd short as a lead-in.

This Means War

A consumer researcher (Reese Witherspoon) unknowingly dates two friends (Chris Pine and Tom Hardy) who are CIA operatives. This movie is more of a buddy cop film than a romantic comedy. The boy abuse their spy skills and resources in order to sabotage each other's date time. Reese is always adorable, but plays more of a supporting role here. Chelsea Handler steals all of her scenes by just being her own raunchy self. It's mostly a game of macho one upmanship competing for a girl's affections. See if you can guess who will win the girl. Oh yeah, the villain from the beginning shows up at the end of all silliness in the middle. This mindless fun entertainment was better than alien expected.

Follow Navy SEAL Team 7 around the world as they battle terrorists, smugglers, and the drug cartel. The film has the look and feel of the real deal because actual special ops members make up the team instead of actors. A heart pounding sound track drives this adrenalin rush action thrill ride. They are locked and loaded in stealth mode ready to search and rescue and to stop any threats to our nation. Alien felt like he was in a real fire fight. The film is a tribute to the good men and women who fight the good fight ready to lay down their lives to we can all feel safe at home.

The Woman in Black

While trying to settle the estate of a deceased woman, a young man (Daniel Radcliffe) appears to be seeing and hearing strange things as the village curse unfolds. This Gothic horror film has all of the right creepy elements; a dark, dilapidated, and dreary house with cobwebs, lit by candle light, and set in the marshlands cut off during high tides. Look for the usual false scares early on, before the the real stuff shows up. The more you believe in ghosts and possession, the bigger the thrill you'll get. See if you can figure out the ending before you get there.

Go For The Money

Stephanie Plum (Katherine Heigl) goes from lingerie saleswoman to amateur bounty hunter when she becomes desperate to pay her bills. This is basically a murder mystery/comedy with a crazy cast of characters and a gumshoe voice-over. The plot is predictable, but it is still funny and entertaining. Even as a brunette, Heigl is still gorgeous and has great screen presence, more noticeably when she is handcuffed naked. For lighthearted fun, watch Heigl track down her man.

Albert Nobbs is a quiet strange little man with a dream and a secret. In this Dublin hotel, a woman has to do what a woman has to do living in a man's world. Glenn Close gives a marvelous performance and transformation. You will grow to care for Mr. Nobbs as his predicament evolves. It's a charming period piece with a couple of twists that will put a smile on your face and a tear in your eye.

A young boy (Thomas Horn) is devastated by the lost of his father during 9-11, but is convinced a key is a clue to one last challenge designed by his dad. Horn's performance is amazing as he takes us on a fabulous journey through New York as seen through a child's eye. Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock are perfect as the loving parents. Max Von Sydow gives an unforgettable performance without uttering a word. Dealing with loss, facing ones fears, and father/son relationships are featured in this moving story that will make you laugh and bring you to tears. Just when you think this touching film can't be any better, you get hit by another surprise.

He is such a sweetheart trying to win her love back. She is always adorable, even with a head injury. She tries to figure out who she is as her past and present compete for her affections. This inspired-by-true-events (family revealed in credits) lost love story is a classic chick flick for romantics, people in love, and those who are looking for love. Alien thinks this is the perfect pick for a Valentines Day dinner-and-a-movie date.

Underworld: Awakening (3D)

Vampire warrioress Selene (Kate Beckinsale) is back for the fourth installment and has a rude awakening to a future world she doesn't know, where humans are hunting down Vampires and Lycans in the "Great Purge". Producer/writer/husband Len Wiseman likes to see his beautiful wife hotly dressed and undressed as well as always kicking butt. It's a homage to the series with 3D depth and a scientific twist to shift the saga toward a new direction. Lycans are no long men in latex werewolf suits nor mere animatronics, but are savage CGI creatures. The third Underworld was a Beckinsale-less bust so filmmakers wisely center the action around Death Dealer Selene and her new friends and foes, both pint-sized and super-sized. It's an action-packed shoot 'em up guilty pleasure about bloodlines and blood memories.

Red Tails

It's "Top Gun" meets "The Help" meets "Saving Private Ryan" meets "Stalag 17" when George Lucas dramatizes the amazing story of the famed Tuskegee Airmen. Follow the exploits of "Easy", "Joker", "Lightning", and "Ray Gun" under the "experimental" command of Terence Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr. You will care and cheer for these talented pilots and their camaraderie. These terrific characters drive this fascinating story of racism and heroism. You will be treated to some spectacular aerial dogfights, but what else would you expect from the man who brought you x-wings versus tie fighters, the Millennium Falcon, and bombing runs on death stars. The film plays a little heavy handed at the beginning, but you'll be swelling with patriotic pride by the end. Nicely done, Lucas. Alien salutes you.

It's "Alive" meets "Alpha & Omega" meets "Survivor" when a wolf expert (Liam Neeson) must pit his skill and knowledge against an alpha male and his vicious wolf pack. Manly men from a work camp crash land in a snowy wilderness and must fight for survival struggling against human nature and mother nature. It's "life and death" and "man against beast" in director Joe Carnahan's guy's guy film filled with guy talk, guy humor, and guy attitude. The film has a raw look and feel that runs hot and cold as the men trudge through the white desperation and grey terror. However, the movie is played more for the drama rather than the realism. If you stay through the credits, you'll see a glimpse at a possible answer to the film's abrupt ending.

Although the cast is full of bigger names, Gina Carano stars in this flashback-filled movie about spies and assassins. Carano is presented as the beautiful and completely competent operative Mallory Kane. She works for a private contracting company, and is sent on a mission to rescue a hostage. She is double crossed, hence the haywire, but she continues to strut and pose and is always in control like a female James Bond. She wears a sultry stare or scowl while she kicks ass. The movie is stylized, with limited dialogue and an ever-present musical score as Mallory’s personal soundtrack. With all the martial arts, the movie played like a video game brought to life. It felt silly when scenes end on statements such as, "I don’t like loose ends" or "He better run". says LeezaJayee

Contraband

A former smuggler (Mark Wahlberg), trying to go legit, gets pulled back into the business when his brother-in-law screws up and his family is threatened. This paper caper takes us from New Orleans to Panama City in a shell game where everything goes wrong and plenty of bad guys crawl out of the woodwork. A good cast of characters (Ben Foster, Giovanni Ribsis, J.K. Simmons, and the beautiful Kate Beckinsale) fill out the line up, but don't live up to their past potential. The plot is rather run of the mill and implausible, but it has enough entertainment value to get the audience going with a big payoff at the end to put a smile on their faces.

Joyful Noise

It's "The Fighting Temptations" meets "Glee" meets "Romeo and Juliet" as two rivals (Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton) compete to take their church choir to the Joyful Noise National Finals Competition in LA. Parton dishes out homespun country wisdom and pokes fun at her own physical enhancements. The ever-charming Queen Latifah demonstrates her blue collar, street-wise, over-protective parental skills. However, the young generation (Keke Palmer and Jeremy Jordan) drives this film about faith and family featuring tunes of gospel and rock 'n' roll. The story is more cleverly complex than one would expect. For a feel good gospel fun time, Alien highly recommends this "feel the music" film.

Beauty and the Beast (Special 3D Edition)

Disney's classic fairy tale about the lovely Belle and the curse of the Beast and his enchanted castle still stands up against the test of time. More than a moral about beauty not being only skin deep, it is a sweet and tender story of love and sacrifice with some great memorable songs. Alien was delighted and surprised how well this older animation lends itself to the 3D process. The effect adds a wonderful depth to the old flat animation style. The film is still excellent entertainment for young and old.

The Devil Inside

It's "The Exorcist" meets "Paranormal Activity" meets "Ghostbusters" when a daughter searches for answers in a triple homicide involving her mother. Filmed documentary style, this adventure takes us to Italy where we get a crash course on exorcism. The movie is not that scary, but there are some great scenes featuring a contortionist double named Pixie Le Knot. It was better than I anticipated and a good effort considering the small budget. The ending was disappointing, but Alien didn't think it was unexpected given the nature of the genre.

Man on a Ledge

It's "Prison Break" meets "The Hot Rock" meets "Tower Heist" meets "Phone Booth" as a man with a plan masterminds a scheme to prove his innocence from a building's ledge. With a cast of familiar faces playing their stereotypical roles and an amateur mission improbable team, the script is fairly predictable, but mindlessly entertaining. It is the kind of film that finds an excuse to strip the pretty girl down to her underwear when you least expect it. If you have a fear of heights, you may want to avoid this guilty pleasure which amounts to a poor man's "Mission Impossible" (escaping from prison, scaling outside of a tall building, bypassing high security, and the framed proving their innocence).

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

It's James Bond without the glamor, gadgets, and gorgeous girls or the spy who lost me. Based on John Le Carre's famed espionage novel, this movie centers around a bloody mess of a botched Budapest mission and the search to smoke out a mole in the British Secret Intelligence Service. Alien's first faux pas was not studying the Studio's dossier handed out before the screening (maybe it's supposed to be a prerequisite for understanding this film). This spy mystery felt realistic, but seemed rather dull, dragging, dark, and down right confusing as the scenes jumped back and forth in the timeline. Lost in the spy jargon, Alien probably missed the key clues that would have helped in tracking what and why things were actually happening. This is more of a thinking man's spy thriller than an action packed stunt show.

A fading film star and a rising new comer cross paths as Kinograph Studios transitions from silent films to the talkies. Who would have thunk in today's era of high tech special effects and motion capture movies that film makers would dare attempt a black-and-white silent film release with an old fashion story line. It's a throwback homage to the golden age of silent films featuring lighting, shadows, nostalgic mood music, and mugging to the camera. The film as a great look and feel with a sense of humor and a very cute and clever dog. This great gimmick is entertaining, but will probably work just once.

Michelle Williams is absolutely outstanding and just oozes Marilyn Monroe... sexy, temperamental, playful, insecure, and desperately wanting to be loved. Like Marilyn, when Williams is on screen, you can't take your eyes off of her. It is a charming story of infatuation with an iconic image.

Soak up some local Hawaiian flavor as you realise it's not always the paradise you expected. A hard working lawyer (George Clooney) can barely keep his head above water as he deals with his wife's tragic accident, his troublesome daughters, and the pressures of a multimillion dollar land deal. It's an emotional drama with a dark sense of humor. You will laugh a little and cry a little as you watch this dysfunctional family learn how to cope and grieve during these difficult times. Through it all, the family grows closer and are there for each other. Clooney is the perfect pick for the part.

The Darkest Hour (3D)

It's "The Social Network" meets "Attack on the Block" meets "Skyline" trying to be "War of the Worlds" meets "I Am Legend" in this Russian-made movie about 4 Americans trapped in Moscow when cloaked aliens invade. Zapping humans into ashes is about the only good thing in this sci-fi survival film with a lot of electromagnetic microwave mumble jumble. The 3D effects as well as the dialogue are weak. Hire a known American name (Emile Hirsch) to make it seem like a better movie. It's cheaper to CGI invisible creatures. "The Darkest Hour" is more of a forgettable hour and a half.

The Girl in the Dragon Tattoo

Two investigative reporters, one disgraced by a libel suit (Daniel Craig) and the other a pierced tattooed computer hacking ward of the state (Rooney Mara), become involved in solving a 40 year old missing person case. It's an intriguing mystery with a fascinating lead character that you can't take your eyes off of. Sweden's harsh bitter backdrop sets the tone of the heroine's bleak and brutal world. Don't underestimate this inked nonconformist because she is highly intelligent, but more importantly, don't dare to cross her. If you like the bad girl type, you love this dark soul. For the squeamish, beware of graphic images of murder and rape as well as nudity in explicit sex scenes. The story plays out slowly during its 2 ½ hours, but it is well worth it. Alien did have trouble with the accents and keeping track of who is who in the family of crazies.

The Adventures of Tintin (3D)

It's "Indiana Jones" meets "Pirates of the Caribbean" as a boy reporter, Tintin, stumbles onto a hidden treasure clue and ends up competing against the bad guys. Director Steven Spielberg's artistic film making talents are evident in this amazing motion capture animated visual treat. Based on a Belgium comic book, this adaptation is a rousing non-stop action adventure thriller. The mystery incorporates a pirate story, a clever dog, a pickpocket, two detectives, and a freighter. It is good family entertainment if the kiddies are not too young. Hints of beginning another treasure hunt are made by film's end.

Steven Spielberg combines the concept of "a boy and his dog" and "lovers separated by the war" into a moving story about a young man, Albert, his horse, Joey, and the odyssey they endure through WWI. See how the lives of many are touched by this noble steed with a big heart and lots of determination. Spielberg directs an emotional movie on an epic scale that may bring a few tears to your eyes. The film runs nearly 2 ½ hours long, but you'd never notice because the story is so captivating.

Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team get framed and must stop a nuclear war threat all on their own. This fourth franchise film features some of the most thrilling and spectacular stunt scenes imagined as the heart pounding action takes us from the Kremlin to Dubai to Mumbai. It's classic Mission Impossible deception and high tech gadgetry. The movie is an incredible thrill ride for adrenaline junkies like its star. The story is rather simple, the aerial shots are breath taking, and the action is death defying. Mission Impossible movie fans can definitely expect it to ooze Cruise.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

A British Hero battles an evil villain in a world domination plot involving a big fight scene on a honeymoon train, a sniper, a fake face, a Gypsy camp, breaking codes, and the hero's famed novel version's death scene being staged... but isn't that the first James Bond film, "From Russia with Love"? Well, director Guy Ritchie has brought back his favorite Arthur Conan Doyle characters and his unmistakable movie style while striving for bigger impact. Holmes is a master of disguise and is always a few steps ahead of everyone else. It's a strategic chess game as Holmes plays a cat and mouse game with his arched nemesis, Professor Moriarty. Alien was impressed with the slo-mo special effects and surprised with the sense of humor. If you liked the first film, you'll probably love this sequel and hope for a trilogy.

It's good squeaky clean family fun for the kiddies with a parental message of trusting and letting your children grow up. Stay seated during the credits for additional airline antics and jet set jokes.

New Year's Eve

Director Gary Marshall has applied his "Valentine's Day" romantic comedy formula to another emotionally charged holiday. A star studded cast along with many surprise cameos steer you through an intricate set of story lines involving a bucket list, competitive pregnant mothers, a deathbed patient, a rock star, a caterer, a New Year's Eve party, and the Times Square's ball drop. The movie may be cliché, but it was still better than Alien expected. It is a fun mindless sentimental film with a message of love, forgiveness, and second chances that will make you laugh and maybe shed a tear or two. See if you can figure out which characters may be connected to another one. Stay for the hilarious blooper reel during the credits.

A delusional, possibly alcoholic, has-been ghost writer (Charliize Theron) for a Young Adult novel series, "Waverly Prep", returns to her hometown to win back her former boyfriend (Patrick Wilson). Throw in Patton Oswald as a crippled geek into this dark comedy of mini high school reunion with sad and pathetic undertones which make it more disappointing than hilarious. Writer Diablo Cody tries to create a grownup version of "Juno", but it is not nearly as funny.

It's an adventure... with lions, tigers, and bears... oh my!

After a tragic loss, a family makes a big move hoping to help improve their healing process and ends up owning a troubled wildlife park with a motley crew of critter caretakers. When an orphaned boy (Asa Butterfield) who lives in a train station meets the goddaugther (Chloe Grace Moretz) of a toymaker (Ben Kingsley), the adventure begins to solving the mystery of the mechanical man. Director Martin Scorsese is paying homage to the movie magic of the first films. The visuals and the 3D effects are spectacularly stunning. The film is beautifully crafted and acted. Sacha Baron Cohen (as the Station Inspector) always brings his unique characterizations to his performances. Though it looks like a kids film, the plot takes a while to develop in it's 130-minute length and may lose those with short attention spans.

The Muppets

Two brothers and a girlfriend, Gary (Jason Segel), Walter (another Muppet), and Mary (Amy Adams) try to raise money to save the old Muppet Studios. It's art imitating life in this reunion of yesteryear's classic Muppet characters gathered to perform some of their famous bits. Like the original Muppet Show, the movie features old fashion musical numbers and corny jokes from human and silly puppet creatures. Also, expect a cavalcade of cameo appearances. It's a fun family film for the little kiddies and a nostalgic amusement for some adults. For Alien's tastes, the film needed more Swedish Chef, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, and Beaker. The best part of the screening was Pixar's Toy Story Toon opener starring a small fry Buzz Lightyear guy in a spoof of Happy Meal toys and the fast food franchises.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1

This chapter of the Twilight Saga opens with every girl's dream of a beautiful wedding (in "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" style), a wonderful honeymoon, and a night of passion. Then things get darker when Bella develops medical complications which threaten her life. Film fans of the series won't be disappointed as this romance novel seems to get better and better. It's a lighthearted look at human events with a vampiry and wolfy twist. Alien was surprised at the humor infused into the storyline. Emotions and drama build to a peak with another wolf pack/Cullen clan clash. The movie will have you mesmerized from the Jacob's shirtless start to Bella's eye opening ending. Stick around for the credits for one more foretelling saga scene.

Like Crazy

It's a bittersweet love story between an American boy (Anton Yelchin) and an English girl (Felicity Jones) who fall in love at college and struggle to keep up a long distance relationship. The unscripted dialogue gives the movie a feeling of being unguided. This slow moving film did not work for alien because these two never felt like a real couple in love. As the lovers try to deal with their on and off again relationship, their togetherness seemed more and more awkward and uncomfortable. By the end, the couple gets what they want... or do they?

Most of your favorites are back, but two new characters, Will and Bill the Krills, steal their scenes with their subtle adult humor. Everyone can enjoy this crowd pleaser with terrific family values like "where there is a will, there is a way" and "it takes a village". Audiences will have an avalanche of fun. If you stay for the credits, you can play pop the 3D bubbles.

Gods, titans, and a virginal oracle... oh my!

It's the "300" meets "Clash of the Titans" when a peasant must stop a ruthless king from releasing the titans. This CGI extravaganza is a visual feast for the eyes, but oddly, the epic backdrops look both realistic and artificial at the same time. Audiences will be treated to battle scenes galore; man vs man, man vs gods, and gods vs titans. It's a slo-mo, blood splattering, killing spree. These filmmakers have a unique interpretation and visualization of Greek mythology. It's a tale of fate and faith that hints at a possible storyline for a sequel.

The title is a mouthful and represents the names used by a confused young girl (Elizabeth Olsen) who returns home to her sister after escaping from a cult commune. It's a disturbing and depressing cry for help. Olsen, the younger sibling of those famous twins, gives an outstanding performance and proves that there is some real acting talent in the family. Frequent flashbacks document the brainwashing process of the young influential mind. alien was puzzled by the ending, but was glad the film was finally over.

It's the man behind the FBI meets "Brokeback Mountain" in director Clint Eastwood's Hoover exposé. Whether it's fact or fiction, Eastwood creates a fascinating biography of one of America's most powerful and feared man in government. To keep is potential enemies at bay, Hoover kept confidential files of dirty secrets, while yet he may have been hiding one dark secret of his own. Filmed in muted colors, this movie captures the look of this historical period while giving us glimpses of such names as Kennedy, King, Lindbergh, and Temple. Leonardo DiCaprio's performance is phenomenal as he carries the audience through a slow-paced 140 minutes. The movie is a terrific character study on what this remarkable man may have been like.

War Horse

This movie is a great adventure for everyone. The movie is set in rural England and Europe during the first World War where England is at war with Germany. A horse named Joey is raised by a boy to be a farmhand until Joey is sold to the British Army. The boy tells the horse that someday they will be back together. This is a tale that describes how a horse touches the lives of many people, including children, family, British and German soldiers. Steven Spielberg makes you feel that the horse is telling the tale, using many short stories with humor and emotions. Definitely a magnificent movie with many touching scenes. There were teary eye movie goers during and at the end of the movie. It's a 4+ out of five for me.

A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas

The title pretty much explains exactly what you are going to get in this third outrageous misadventures of those stoner boys. Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) are now estranged with their own personal problems, but fate has brought them back together in search for the perfect Christmas tree. The film is absolutely hilarious as it pokes fun at the Christmas themes, its own stars, and this franchise while exploiting 3D effects to the max. It is the most inappropriate fun that pushes the limits of common decency, so leave the kids at home for this adult humor. It's "R" rated for nudity, language, and drug abuse. Harold and Kumar fans will be delighted with this twisted holiday special.

This marvel film proposes that William Shakespeare was a fraud and didn't actually write those famous plays and sonnets. Excellent actors, costumes, and sets give a stunning visual to what Elizabethan life would have looked like. This intriguing film recounts tales of betrayal and tragedy in the royal and the literary worlds. Alien wishes he would have conducted some research of English history prior to the screening to better understand who was who. The flashbacks further contributed to the ID confusion. The film skillfully manipulates an alternate version of the past.

The Rum Diary

Set in 1960, a writer/journalist (Johnny Depp) takes a new job with a local newspaper and becomes involved with a shady businessman's (Aaron Eckhart) land development scheme. This quirky dramedy is beautifully shot in Puerto Rico. While the features Carnival, the sexy Amber Heard, some cock fighting, a voodoo spell, fire-breathing acts, and some crazy car scenes, the plot doesn't really go anywhere. The movie mostly follows this trio of odd characters, but strangely enough, Depp's portrayal seems to be the more normal of the bunch. Most may feel it's a waste of time watching these actors getting wasted on screen.

Imagine an alternate universe where no one is supposed to live more than 25 years. There, time is money, literally, and no one can afford to waste it. It's "Robin Hood" meets "Bonnie and Clyde" as a couple of time bandits try to change their world while evading the "time keeper", a time cop. The film creates a fascinating, but depressing society which obsesses over time instead of money. Issues of immortality, greed, and segregation are brought up. Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried star as a couple brought together by circumstance and forced to live day by day.

The Three Musketeers

It's Alexander Dumas' famed trio trapped in the blended world of "The Matrix", The Wild, Wild West, and "Master and Commander". The filmmakers have taken great liberties to amp up and supercharge this literary classic for today's younger generation. The special effects are amazing and the 3D effects are eye-popping. Toss in Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) as the young brash hero and Resident Evil's Alice (Milla Jovovich) as the double-crossing femme fatale for good measure. Orlando Bloom seems to be miscast as the English foe and talentedly evil Christoph Waltz is underutilized. The costumes and sets are elaborate and stunning. The insane action is over-the-top. The film is mindless fun and not meant to be taken seriously. Alien thought is was better than expected after viewing the trailer. At the end, don't leave too soon or you may miss the segue to the possible sequel.

Paranormal Activity 3

Remember the sisters from the first two Paranormal Activity films? Well, they are back as little girls and will spook audiences again. The crafty filmmakers are following their famous fright formula because it works. It works because the families feel real and natural, and everyone has heard those things that go bump in the night and wonder what was that. The film pits believers against non-believers. The special effects are relatively small, but immensely powerful and eerily startling. It takes normal scenes and puts a supernatural twist to them. Do you believe it ghosts and witches? Are your kids' imaginary friends real? If you liked the first two, you'll probably love this one and wonder where the next one will take you. Alien liked the oscillating cam shots and the filmmakers fright tactics. It's the best of the bunch.

Margin Call

Inspired by the 2008 financial crisis, an investment firm begins a corporate fire sale when it gets caught in a sh*t storm. Although this 24-hour behind-the-scenes story runs a bit dry with lots of financial speak, Alien did like the interesting characters caught in this stressful situation. The all-star cast includes Kevin Spacey, Jeremy Irons, Simon Baker, Zachery Quinto, Stanley Tucci, and Demi Moore who all must face some tough financial and moral decisions. It is a sad and scary tale that may make you angry enough to occupy Wall Street or a city park in protest. This is a timely stock market horror film that probably hardly anyone will see. This film is rated "R" for all of the F-bombs dropped.

Johnny English Reborn

It's Mr. Bean plays James Bond in Rowan Atkinson's second portrayal of his bumbling spy spoof character. A disgraced MI7 secret agent gets called back to service to stop an assassination attempt by Vortex members. If you like silly comedies, the French has Clouseau and the British have English. Atkinson is pretty much a one note act, but if you can stand him, you may be entertained. Alien finds his brand of humor very obvious and predictable (therefore, more amusing than hilarious), but many in the audience were were laughing heartily at his inane antics. Stay for the credits for Atkinson's most clever bit, conducting a cooking concerto. At least he finishes on a positive note.

It's "The Hot Rock" meets "Ocean's 11" when a wealthy securities defrauder (Alan Alda) tries to avoid prison and a building manager (Ben Stiller) seeks justice for his co-workers. The casting is genius with the assemblage of Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, Matthew Broderick, Téa Leoni, and "Precious" little Gabourey Sidibe who steals her scenes. The clever script with its twists and turns will keep you guessing and laughing. Audiences will be treated to a view of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade that they'll never forget. The film just gets funnier and funnier as this crazy caper hysterically escalates and the plot thickens.

The Thing

It starts off with a dirty Norwegian joke and the discovery of a structure & a specimen that sends a team of scientists to the arctic. Unfortunately, they dig up more than they bargain for and must find the enemy hiding among them. This sci-fi horror film has the usual implausibilities, but there are enough frights, scares, and special effects to keep the fans interested. A better film would have paid more attention to its script than focusing on the effects. Alien would recommend seeing or reviewing the two previous movies of the same name to fully appreciate this film. This one is Alien's least favorite. Be sure to stay through the credits for some key scenes.

The Big Year

Three obsessed birders (Owen Wilson, Jack Black, and Steve Martin) strive for the "Big Year" and the Audubon Society's title of Best Birdwatcher of the Year. Wilson, Black, and Martin each bring their unique comic stylings to this silly throw-back to the "Great Race"/"Cannonball Run" days. There is no raunchy humor, but Alien was surprised by the one obscene hand gesture. Look for a lot of familiar faces in cameo situations. Enjoy the great outdoors while spotting the featured birds, bird names, and bird sounds. It's a light hearted romp with a family message about the cost of winning. This film is better than it sounds.

The all star cast of Clooney, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Ryan Gosling, Evan Rachel Wood, and Marissa Tomei play their roles perfectly. See if you can predict the winners and losers in this political race.

Alien was disappointed in the hero who wasn't very sympathetic. During the credits, look for photos of the real life characters.

Professional assassins, British spies, and an ailing sheik in exile are involved in a deadly mission leaving a trail of "accidental" deaths. There is a lot of mystery and political intrigue surrounding some thrilling chase and hand-to-hand combat scenes. Jason Statham does what he does best as he tries to complete his mission while playing a cat and mouse game with Clive Owen in hot pursuit. Toss in Robert De Niro as Stathan's mentor for good measure. These tough guys and some intense action scenes carry this film through a foggy script that will make you wonder what really happened here. This film is based on a controversial true story book which British Intelligence denies.

Welcome to World Robot Boxing or How I Spent My Summer Vacation.

It's "Rocky" meets "Transformers" where real men like Hugh Jackman play "Rock'em Sock'em Robots" on a mega scale. Jackman is a washed-up fighter, an absentee father, and a bad bet who uses a custody battle to finance his next project. The son is adorable in a boy-and-his-dog type story line. Most will be attracted by the robot bashing bouts, but they will be sucker punched by the touching father/son bonding message. Kids who like robots and video games will love this steel-on-steel pounding action ride. Yes, parts are violent, but it's really cool bloodless robot violence. See how a junkyard G2 shadow-boxing sparring robot with a pint-size manager can advance from the no-holds-barred underground arenas to a "David and Goliath" match for the World Title. It's high-tech versus old school, but Alien won't divulge the outcome. "Real Steel" is the real deal, a big-time knockout with a heart. Audiences will be rooting for a "Real Steel II: The Return of Atom".

This updated remake of the 1984 Kevin Bacon classic is a nearly scene-for-scene, line-for-line, name-for-name copy, complete with red boots and a yellow VW bug. Only minor variations occur in this iconic homage, like moving the locale from the Midwest to the South. A big-city boy leads an effort to repeal a small town's anti-dancing law. This film is not bad, but it's just not original and doesn't try to put any interesting twist to it. The script is predictible and a bit corny, but that "Footloose" theme song is toe tapping irresistible. Teens will like this rebellion against stupid adult rules.

Abduction

It's Jason Bourne meets "From Russia with Love" in this mis-titled espionage action thriller. A high school student (Taylor Lautner) working on a sociology project uncovers secrets which makes him suspicious of his past and the people around him. This is a good non-"Twilight" starring role vehicle for Lautner featuring his athleticism and quiet charisma. He manages to escape his wolf boy image, but doesn't stretch far beyond it. Director John Singleton keeps the action rolling and exploding with Lautner on the run from the bad guys and the good guys. This descent script has plausible explanations to events with acceptable flaws that make the movie work. It's classic escapism fare crafted for the teens, yet enjoyable entertainment for older generations too.

It's a poor man's "Transporter" when Ryan Gosling climbs into the driver's seat for a job. He is a talented but shady character whose life changes he meets a pretty girl (Carey Mulligan) and her little boy. The script is fairly predictable except for the camera-lingering-uncomfortably-too-long scenes, the musical song selections blaring too loudly, and the excessively graphic scenes of violence. It's a shame that a good cast (also featuring Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, and Albert Brooks) is wasted in this bad film. It's a bloody mess that can't be ruined by bad reviews because the film self-destructs on its own.

Follow the story of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) as he tries to reinvent how the game of baseball is played. His plan is to use computers and statistics to compete against the big spenders teams while his team is on a shoe string budget. Alien was delightfully surprised by the subtle bits of humor sprinkled throughout Aaron Sorkin's screenplay. You don't have to be a baseball fan to enjoy this "Little Engine That Could" story.

It's "Brave One" meets "Deliverance" in a remake of Sam Peckinpah's 1971 original which alien never saw. When Amy-cakes (Kate Bosworth) returns to Blackwater, Mississippi with her husband (James Marsden), trouble starts to brew between them and the local rednecks. James Woods and Alexander Sarsgard play their villainously roles expertly. The movie is marvelously crafted and acted, but is hard to watch due the graphic violence portrayed. This film is not for the squeamish, but if you like being terrorized by backwater bullies, you might enjoy this creepy cup of Southern hospitality.

It's "Outbreak" on a global scale updated with today's science and fears. As the deadly disease days start to count off, the body count exponentially climbs while the Center for Disease Control, World Health Organization, and Homeland Security search for answers. An all star cast represents diverse points of views and actions during mass panic in epidemic proportions. There are so many stories trying to be told here that the film feels more like a fragmented documentary than a normal movie. You will be exposed to the many good and bad sides of human nature as desperation and paranoia sets in. It's a scary look at a very realistic possibility that no one wants to face for real. After viewing this panic attack, you may re-evaluate your ideas about sanitation and personal safety. Break out the guns and hand sanitizer.

Down to the inevitable showdown, which side will you root for, with the high school students or with the Marine Corps? This double ultimate underdog story reaches way out to tug on all of your heartstrings. The explosive action in the ring will pummel your senses.

Two sets of actors play these agents 30 years apart in a struggle over truths and lies. Helen Mirren is once again excellent as well as Jessica Chastain. They play the older and younger versions of the Rachel character. Chastain is Alien's new favorite actress to watch and can also be seen in "The Help". This film asks at what price are you willing to pay for patriotism and what would you do if you were face to face with pure evil.

Golf and a Sunday sermon share the stage when a talented pro golfer (Lucas Black) with a demanding father and "Anger Management" issues has a lone star meltdown and takes a "Doc Hollywood" detour in Utopia, Texas. Stranded, this "Luke" meets his Yoda mentor in an old rancher (Robert Duvall) who teaches him golf lessons through fly fishing, painting, and washer tossing. God is the spiritual "Force" in this motivating movie about being reborn as a better person. Alien expects the ending will take most by surprise.

Thus she gives up her dreams of becoming Xena, Warrior Princess, and decides to become a killer. It is a very thin and obvious plot of vengeance strung together by a series of slick action scenes. If you have seen "The Professional", "Transporter", and "Taken" you may recognize Luc Besson's handy work, but this weak script reeks more of "Transporter 2" with many Mission: Implausible situations. However, who cares if Zoe Saldana is prancing around scantily clad and with machine guns blazing. One sequence of her slinking around in a tight lycra outfit has Alien questioning the choice of Anne Hatheway as Catwoman in the next Batman movie. Too bad, Saldana can only stay two steps ahead of the police, the FBI, the CIA, and the Cartel because Besson wrote it that way. You'll probably enjoy this one more if you don't take it seriously and chuckle at the ridiculous moments like the bathroom brawl featuring a towel and toothbrushes as weapons.

Dolphin Tale (3D)

It's "Flipper" meets "How to Train Your Dragon" in an inspirational story about dealing with disabilities. An underachieving social misfit loner finally becomes engaged when he takes an interest in an injured dolphin who washes ashore. This touching family film is about rescue and rehab as well as friendship and family. Kids will have a fun time relating to the on screen antics. The best 3D shots are of the underwater scenes. Ashley Judd, Harry Connick Jr., and Morgan Freeman star in this film. Stay for the credits to see real life footage of Winter, the star and inspiration of the film. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

It's "Gremlins" meets "The Bogey Man" meets "Pandora's Box" when a child's worst nightmare comes true in this remake of a 1973 made-for-TV movie. An unwanted child looking for a friend, an old house with a secret past, and an ancient folklore combine for a creepy suspense thriller. Bailee Madison is adorable as the misunderstood daughter. Katie Holmes is likable as the caring stepmother figure. Guy Pearce is irritating as the dad who ignores his daughter. If you view this film through a child's eyes, you'll have a good enough fright from the classic scare tactics. But if your adult brain takes over, you'll realize some of the plot flaws. The movie isn't terrorizing, but if you jump at things that go bump in the night and fear what lurks in the shadows, you'll may want to sleep with the lights on.

Fright Night (3D) Revisited

Alien has discovered how to enhance a second viewing of this frightfully fun film. By wisely choosing your movie mates, you too can have a 4D experience during this delightful 3D vampire film. Select somewhat vocal, moderately animated, and slightly skittish friends to sit next to you and you'll enjoy their fright, their tension build up, and general jumpiness as they react, shriek, and lean into you. It's better than surround sound. I thank my special movie friend for adding another half star to tonight's screening experience.

Conan the Barbarian (3D)

It's "300" without the stylistic killings meets "Sinbad" meets a hunky hero without the Arnold accent. A warrior woman's battle bred son, Conan, is born by combat Cesarean and thus the bloody legend begins. Big battle scenes and good villains are the high points. The lack of 3D effects in a 3D film are the low points (the only noticeable 3D effects are of the opening studio logo and the ending film credits). An evil tyrant with a Freddy Kruger armed voodoo daughter searches for bone shards of a power mask and the pretty "Polly" pureblood so he can regain his mate and become a god. At least 3 CGI expert teams (Bulgarian, Chinese, and Indian) drive this special effects spectacular. Alien found the sandmen particularly interesting. Don't be surprised by the nubile nakedness on this ride through Barbarian World where macho men grunt and howl in their victories.

Final Destination 5 (3D)

There is nothing final in this movie series about how you can't cheat death. Alien knows he has seen one of the previous film. He's just not sure which one, but it doesn't really matter because they are all the same. In the latest film, a premonition seems to spare 8 people, headed for an office retreat, from certain disaster; only to fall victim to some freakish accidents later. This may sound repetitiously boring, but it's not because each "accident" is set up to keep you guessing exactly when and how it is going to happen. Each one is spectacularly heighten with 3D grizzly gore goodness. Audiences will groan with glee at each one. It's not a great film by any means; it's just a fun guilty pleasure for some.

Alien gives it 3 "wrinkle in reality" stars out of 4.

Final Destination 5 (Revisited)

Alien has just viewed an over night marathon of all five films and now I get this homage to the original and its successors. Be sure to watch the first film if you want to fully appreciate number five. This latest release is the best of the bunch. Parts are the earlier films are laughable which was extremely evident by the annoying audience who were constantly talking to the screen and making rude comments. This kind of killed the experience that those filmmakers were trying to convey.

The Help (Alien just can't quit you)

Alien couldn't resist seeing this sure winner just one more time.

Imagine the "Mean Girls" as Southern belles and all grown up with babies living in Jackson, Mississippi, during 1963. This touching, heartfelt drama is not a comedy, but there is a great deal of hilarious humor laced into the wonderful script where secrets are revealed and the truth will set you free. Step back in time on an emotional journey that will bring you tears of laughter, anger, sadness, and joy. It is a powerful and inspirational film highlighting strong women with the courage to stand up for what is right in an isolated world that is so wrong. The colorful cast of characters will pull you in with their intriguing stories. The entire cast brings their "A" game to the table. This is hands down the best movie that Alien has seen this year so far.

Rise of the Planet of Apes

This prequel to "The Planet of the Apes" explains how the apes got so smart. A scientist (James Franco), whose father (John Lithgow) has Alzheimer's, is researching for a cure through lab tests with chimps. Of course, thing go very wrong when one ape, Caesar, starts to outwit the humans and leads a simian revolt. The motion capture technique is amazing and especially effective in conveying the facial expressions. The apes are the stars of this film. It's a good start to a possible series of films. Just don't leave your seat too soon or you'll miss the hint to what may happen next.

Fright Night (3D)

It's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" meets "Disturbia" when a high school dweeb (Anton Yelchin)and his nerdy buddy (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) suspect the new neighbor Jerry (Colin Farrell) as the cause for people disappearing in their Las Vegas suburb. Alien never saw the 1985 original, but this version is a hoot. It's a fresh update to the age old vampire theme where the dweeb gets a crash course in blood sucker termination from a big Vegas illustionist. Alien loves it when a film pokes fun at its own genre. Farrell has a deliciously fun time playing his role with relish. Toni Collette and Imogen Poots play the damsels in distress. Look for 3D blood splatters and floating embers to enhance the action scenes. This may be a guilty pleasure that you can sink your teeth into.

A young man (Joseph Gordon-Levit) struggles with his cancer diagnosis, friends, and family in this very funny look at a very serious subject. Gordon-Levit is absolutely perfect for the part and will move you to tears and laughter. He is surrounded by a top-notched cast including Seth Rogen, Anna Hendricks, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Anjelica Houston. The ladies all shine and Rogen is his usual vulgar funny self. It is a powerful and touching story showing everything you wanted to know about the cancer experience but were afraid to ask. The clever script manages to effectively slip in its little jokes time and time again as it walks a fine line between tragedy and comedy. Just like with the disease, this film needs a sense of humor to get through it. Will this cancer patient survive? Well, his odds are 50/50. This movie is a must see if you want to understand more about dealing with the Big C, but it does not open until late September.

The Help (Revisited)

Like Miss Hilly, Alien couldn't resist but to have a second slice of this delicious treat. The major characters (Emma Stone, Bryce Dallas Howard, Viola Davis, and Octavia Spenser) are fantastic and the minor ones are terrific too especially the adorable little girl. Their performances will make you laugh, make you cry, make you angry, and make you proud. The costumes, the hairdos, the sets, the props, the music, the TV footages will transport you back in time to 1963 in the South. It will turn your stomach and warm your heart. It is an unforgettable story of courage and women's empowerment. Once you have seen the film, you will want to see it again, or read the book, or recommend to everyone to see.

30 Minutes or Less

A pizza delivery guy (thus the title; Jesse Eisenberg) gets blackmailed into a bank robbery scheme involving a vest bomb. It's a double buddy film with bad guy idiots versus good guy idiots. With Danny McBride ("Your Highness" and "Pineapple Express") at the helm, you pretty much know what to expect. This predictable script is loaded with F-bombs, implied and referenced sexual acts, and the obligatory titty bar scene. If you like low brow humor, this might be right up your alley for mindless fun. Eisenberg and the wild car driving scenes are the highlights. After the credits, look for a special tanning salon advertisement.

Cowboys & Aliens

Based on a graphic novel, it's Jason Bourne meets "Outlander" meets "War of the Worlds" in the Wild, (Olivia) Wilde West. An amnesiactic outlaw (Daniel Craig) and a tough s.o.b. (Harrison Ford) team up and lead a posse on a search and rescue mission in this story of redemption. Director Jon Favreau takes the classic Western genre and puts a Sci-Fi twist to it. If you love these genres, you'll have a marvelous time at the movies. Craig and Ford are outstanding and supported by a terrific colorful cast of characters. The demons from space are just what you want for your terrifying villains. They are fast, powerful, and deadly. Yippy kai-yay.

The Smurfs

It's "Enchantment" meets "Alvin and the Chipmunks" when the blue moon portal transports the little blue beings from their enchanted village to the Big Apple. This is good clean family fun for the kiddies and Smurf lovers. Animated animal antics and "blue" jokes abound. Alien liked the movie's Smurfy sense of humor as it even pokes fun at the Smurf concept. It is a Smurf-erific experience for all. Some Smurf & newborn baby pictures as well as a final word from Garamel run during the credits.

Crazy, Stupid, Love

This comedy about love relationships involves an office romance, a suave womanizer, a couple of crushes, finding your soul mate, and some dating advice. Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Kevin Bacon, and Marissa Tomei are just some of the talented cast in this intricate story that takes a funny look at love proving it will make your crazy and stupid. Carell has got his inept Sad Sack routine down pat, but it is starting to wear a little thin with Alien. Stone and Tomei are the film's bright spots. Much of the film isn't as funny as it tries to be, but there are a few really hilarious scenes and a couple of surprises.

Captain America: The First Avenger (3D)

Discover the origin of Marvel Comic's Captain America character who was born out of patriotic duty during World War II. In 1943, a skinny kid from Brooklyn gets his change to join the army, but he wants to be more than a lab rat and a dancing monkey. He goes behind enemy lines to face an evil worse than Hitler and his Nazis, the super villain Red Skull and his HYDRA army. Paramount and Marvel Studios capture the spirit of comic book action and fun with a 40's retro look, a smart sense of humor, and a little slice of cheese. The movie follows the main Captain America story line with a special forces tribute to the unnamed "Howling Commandos". Bullets, blasters, an energy cube, a red faced crazed villain, and a somersaulting shield flinging super hero drive this incredible action flick with 3D depth. Add in Nick Fury and some Stark Industries; now we are set up for next year's Avengers movie. No final scenes after the credits this time.

The Change-Up

Two long-time buddies have a "Freaky Friday" experience when they wish for each other's life and get it. One is a lawyer (Justin Bateman), married with three kids and a demanding job. The other is an aspiring actor, single with an addiction to pot smoking and loose women. Following the lead of other raunchy comedy hits like "The Hangover", "Bridesmaids", and "Bad Teacher", it pushes the limits of good taste trying to be funny with shockingly wrong behavior. This will still get plenty of laughs, but Alien feels it crosses the line. The wonderful cast also includes Leslie Mann, Olivia Wilde, and Alan Arkin; what a waste of talent. Bateman and Reynolds are terrific comedic actors, but they don't even try to take on the other's mannerisms when they switch. Gratuitous nudity, gross visual acts, and f-bombs are inserted for cheap humor. Supposedly, this was an early working copy that was complete but unfinished. Ironically, Alien can't see how any change-ups can fix "The Change-Up". Even if the filmmakers could clean it up to a PG-13 rating, it would just be a mediocre comedy at best.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II (3D)

The final chapter has finally arrived and the Harry Potter movie fans will now get their closure. Lord Voldemort's army of of sinister henchmen battle the wizard rebel resistance who make their last stand at Hogwarts. There is a lot to handle here as bits and pieces from the whole series flash before us as the gang continues their search for horcruxes and heads for that inevitable duel to the death. Audiences will get some crowd pleasing kissing and killing moments with some Hogwarts humor. The 3D effects add depth to this dark, dark film and dollars to the box office take. The Harry Potter shaped 3D spectacles are a neat souvenir, but they did not fit very well over regular glasses. Alien thinks fans will get their money's worth with this fitting finale to this remarkable long running series.

Winnie the Pooh

Your favorite stuffed bear and gang pop right off the story book page and on to the big screen, It's the tale of Eeyore's missing tail and the search for Christopher Robin. This sweet, charming movie will delight the kiddies and Pooh fans. Among the clever gags, you'll find an update to the classic "who's on first" routine. Stay through the credits for a Back Soon surprise. For the short attention-span ones, this film only runs about 65 minutes.

Zookeeper

It's "Madagascar" meets "A Night at the Museum" when the "King of Queens" meets the "King of the Jungle" at New England's Franklin Park Zoo. Griffin's (Kevin James) zookeeper outfit looks a lot like Doug Hefferman's delivery guy uniform except for the logo and this character pretty much behaves the same. This zany zoo romantic comedy involves a guy (James)trying to win back his girl (Leslie Bibb) by following advice from a menagerie of friends who only talk to him. The two intentionally unlikeable characters are irritatingly over played. The lovely Rosario Dawson is always a joy to watch. Hangover's Ken Jeong is unfortunately underutilized. Columbia Pictures must have made a sweet deal for two of CBS's "Blue Bloods" finest to appear as zoo employees. This fabulous family film features pure silliness for the kids, but adults will also be entertained by the animals with attitude (they steal the show). The CGI work is so seamless that Alien can't tell the real critters from the animated ones. Stay seated during the credits for outtakes, a CGI secret, and a round of animal karaoke.

Beginners

A graphics artist (Ewan McGregor)struggles with his 75-year-old father's (Christopher Plummer) announcement that he is gay, his father's terminal illness, and his own non-committal issues with his latest girlfriend. McGregor and Plummer both give strong emotional performances. This movie is a quirky artsy film festival type favorite that probably will not be popular with the general public. For example, it includes subtitled thoughts from Arthur, a Jack Russell terrier. Some may not like the non-linear story telling style as the film jumps back and forth in time. a sense of sadness and loneliness permeates throughout this autobiographical plot which features two romances.

Horrible Bosses

Does your boss make your angry? If so, Alien recommends this movie for you to channel your pent up aggressions!

It's "The Three Stooges" meets "Strangers on a Train" as three idiots get tortured by their bad bosses. Colin Farrel is the sleazy tool, Kevin Spacey is the slave driving psycho, and Jennifer Aniston is the sex crazy man eater. They all play their roles hysterically perfect. Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day are the patsy employees planning to get rid of their evil bosses. Jamie Foxx is hired to help out these desperate guys. Look for a few more familiar faces joining this all star cast of characters for zany, mad capped comedy and fun as the victims bungle their was through some unexpected twists and turns. The film starts out a bit slow and raunchy, but stick around as the hilarity builds up momentum. This could be a fun safe work environment training film that workers may enjoy.

The King's Speech

It's the remarkable true story of an English monarch with a speech impediment. Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush, and Helena Bonham Carter are all marvelous in this historical period piece about King George IV struggling to overcome his stammer. This powerfully inspirational film runs a bit slow so it is best appreciated when one is not so tired.

The Next Three Days

It is the story of a desperate man (Russsell Crowe) looking back 3 years and ahead 3 days as he believes his wife (Elizabeth Banks) has been falsely imprisoned for murder and must plan an escape for his now suicidal wife. It's hard to believe any professor could pull off such a stunt, but not Crowe. Liam Neeson's role is very short and seems more like a cameo. This mindless action thriller is pure escapism fun.

Bad Teacher

Cameron Diaz plays the worst teacher of the year role. She is lazy, selfish, and only driven by greed. The film is a classic example of the terribly wrong being played as being awfully funny. This means hilarious on screen, but it would be outrageously bad in the real world. For mindless entertainment, audiences attracted to this theme will like it. You'll find no redeeming social message here. It's rated "R" so keep those young students away from this display of bad behavior.

Buck

Meet the real horse whisperer, Buck Brannaman, who consulted on Robert Redford's famous movie. Buck is an amazing horse handler traveling around the country for 9 months a year holding clinics for colts and their owners. This fascinating man has a keen understanding of how to motivate horses. He is also a family man and a trick roper. This documentary shows how life lessons have a lot of horse sense. Alien loved Buck's home spun cowboy wisdom. If you love horses, you might want to check out this entertaining and enlightening film. At the beginning of the credits, a sweet old lady tells her favorite pirate joke.
